Originally formed in Berlin in 1982, C.C.C.P. Faithful To The Line (in English), had relocated to Italy by the time of this recording on Attack Punk Records. This debut release came on proletariat red vinyl, which sat nicely with the communist sleeve style and booklet held within.
Sitting somewhere between The Ex and The Three Johns (the drum machine gives that one away), this is Agit Prop at it’s best. The track ‘Punk Islam’ I hope is not horrid to Islamists world wide. Not being able to read or speak Italian I do not know if this track is ironic or not. I would not think so though, as they seem a pretty level headed band from what I can gather by the booklet.
C.C.C.P went on to record several LP’s further singles, but this is the only one I own.
I may well put up some more Italian punk records from Attack Punk Records and others labels at some point if the interest is there.

July 11, 2008 at 3:13 pmCan anyone remember a band called Pink Military ? I think they turned into Pink Industry.

July 11, 2008 at 4:01 pmPink Military/Industry were brilliant – got most of their releases here – including a large ‘Do Animals Believe in God’ poster still stuck to the bathroom door (after all these years) – Jayne Casey of course used to also be the singer in Big in Japan – along side KLF-er Bill Drumond – ‘Ain’t Nothing Special’ being an essential listen (at least to these ears!) …

July 11, 2008 at 4:38 pm“Do Animals” Yes! Brilliant album…From Liverpool weren’t they?
Stewart
July 11, 2008 at 4:45 pmYes they were! I still have a 12″ they did on Eric’s label (club down the road from the Cavern) which is fab if I remember rightly.
While we’re on the subject, what about Wah! Heat. Only ever bought (indeed, only ever heard) the first single, Better Scream, but that was excellent too!

Wah Heat – another classic band – 7 minutes to Midnight is an all time fav over in these parts …

July 11, 2008 at 5:37 pmSaw Pink Military loads of times. Lots of band-sanctioned downloads here:
http://www.cromar.org/pm_pinkdownloads.htm
Big In Japan stuff here, I agree that ‘Nothing Special’ is a great song:

There is some other blog that covers practically every post-punk Liverpool band that’s really good, can’t remember what it’s called right now though.

July 11, 2008 at 6:05 pmFound it now! The 2007 posts contain the less obscure stuff like Wah!:

The Royal Family and the Poor are on there who some of you may know, I know Lou McGrew knew them from somewhere. The whole sites well worth trawling through for a while although some of the older download links may be dead now.

April 15, 2010 at 12:44 pmI used to have this on 7″ from years ago, but lost it somewhere along the way, I actually found it in 12″ re-issue about a year ago – with an ‘English’ lyric sheet. I’ve got to say, I’m no better off having read the lyrics in English.
It puts me in mind of dodgy bootleg DVDs with translated ‘English’ subtitles that you can’t switch off….
Here for your delectation are the translated lyrics.
LIVE IN PANKOW
East European comrades, one more effort
some dancing halls, little less lousy
a public opinion, a bit less dull
I want to get me a shelter under Warsaw Agreement
I want a five year plan, the stability
Here and on the other side of the wall
Europe’s lost in trance in Alexander Platz
as in the Piazza del Duomo Europe’s lost in trance
recently my friends too in the NATO and the Warsaw Agreement
SAPARA JURIJ
Shoot Jurij shoot (x3)
Jurij shoot
Hope Jurij hope (x3)
Jurij hope
Congratulations (x3)
ISLAM PUNK
I am at home in Istanbul
I run side by the wall
I don’t know
I don’t want to know
whats the difference
“Wir sind die Turken von morgen?”
I wonder whether it’s tru
I stop thinking
I continue chanting
If I were a prodigal child
I’d have fat veal
I’ve got lost in Istanbul
and they can’t find me anymore
they should follow my wishes
in the night when I just get up
or late in the morning
after breakfast
before I fall asleep
– shut a bit the window –
noon in faint light
white and spotless backround
Three from the psychiatric hospital
three in unwatched freedom
three that you meet if you deserve
there aren’t many in circulation
Martin christens the streets
bring them to life
snakes sacrifice to traffic
offer to the gods the walls
in istanbul I am at home
I have a past and a future
I have a present which is God
and makes the waitress
there aren’t many in circulation
only in the right places
Islam punk and punk islam
Istanbul dance (x4)
HALLAH IS THE TRUE GOD
AND GHEDDAFI IS HIS PROPHET
