Various Artists – Street Level EP – Fuck Off Records 1980

Entire Cosmos – Looking For You / Vince Pie And The Crumbs – Pontin Stomp

The Voltones – Poisoned / Blue Midnight – Blues Exterminator

Slightly scratchy (my copy!) release that contains several Street Level Studios superstars. The Entire Cosmos contained in there ranks Josef Porter moonlighting from Zounds, J.B. Genius / Bugle Records and top F.O Reckords PR man! Vince Pie stalwarts of the free festival scene. Blue Midnight with Grant Showbiz, engineer on loads of sessions (quite a few up on this site), Anno from later line ups of Alternative TV / The Good Missonaries.

Rough as old boots, but still…

by jingo what a top ep that is. the crumbs track was recorded at quest studio in luton, we did a few numbers that day and contradicting my diktat of the day [no drinking as we were paying good folding money for this] we got lagged in the pub.
if i remember rightly grant was having a good fiddle with the sliders as was mick sinclair. the voletones were like our jeykle and hyde. mac [colonel spanker]and dick [deadly earnest] were 50 per cent crumbs / 50 per cent voles. theres a good piece on the tones on the no class magazine site. vince and the boys have a myspace site.

I remember that day, I was wearing my brown jumper.

And a top jumper it was, it saw much musical service, and if memory serves me well, it had two sleeves.
