June 7, 2008 at 8:45 amButthole Surfers – the sound of the end of rock n roll to me. A glorious, manic, collision of noise, chaos and fury that few could match. Seeing them and a few other US bands of the time (Sonic Youth at the Mean Fiddler, Big Black at the Clarendon) was pretty much the last time i enjoyed seeing/buying/listening to rock bands for a long long time.
