Old time Boston / New York glam and punk scenester Judy Nylon has an impressive list of artists that she has worked with including John Cale and Brian Eno. One part of the mid 1970’s punk band Snatch, the other half being Patti Palladin. This LP recorded for Adrian Sherwood’s ONU Sound imprint was not the biggest seller for the label, but is worthy for inclusion on this site for being slightly rarer than most of the releases on the label.
Sherwood’s production is respectful to the singers voice, not overpowering dub as one would expect, the rhythms are nice and spaced to allow for her vocal style, kind of laid back.
Judy Nylon interview with 3AM here
Both Judy Nylon and Annie Anxiety recorded for ONU Sound Records and Crass Records, only mention this as Judy Nylon sometimes reminds me of Annie Anxiety’s style, or vice versa of course.
Will upload Noah House Of Dread or Creation Rebel debut LP’s at some point.

April 14, 2008 at 11:29 amThanks for this, Penguin!
I haven’t got a copy of this LP, so it’s great to hear: the melodies on ‘Room without a View’ are lovely…
Sherwood’s influence seems most evident on the production of the drums…
I really love Nylon’s group Snatch – ‘All I Want’ is such a great snotty attitude-drenched single…
Nylon has a tattoo of Man Ray’s ‘Violins d’Ingres’ on her back…
Patti Palladin (Nylon’s partner in Snatch) had an interesting trajectory, including working with Flying Lizards, being related to the Batcave club (run by Ollie Wisdom of Specimen who had previously been in Raw Records artists The Unwanted), and having a picture of her teeth appear as the image on the front of the cover of Skrewdriver’s first album…
Here’s a link to the Batcave segment which appeared on the BBC’s ‘Riverside’ programme (not necessarily appropriate here, but amusing nonetheless)…

April 14, 2008 at 1:56 pmI know, Penguin, I know – it’s never right…
🙂
I have a bit of a photographic memory for things I’m interested in: I can remember obscure facts about music, cinema, literature and art, but have trouble remembering everything else!
Another Snatch fact: Nylon and Palladin covered the Damned in cake for the photo session for their first LP…
What?!? You own a Skrewdriver record?!?
Yeah, I’ve got that one too… 😉

April 14, 2008 at 7:31 pmAlways wanted to hear this so thanks for uploading, yes a definite influence/template for Little Annie’s ‘jackomo’ and her late 80s on-u releases.
