I know nothing of this festival, so I will not write anything specific. I will paste Steve comments to me onto this post. I am hoping for a comment from someone out there to confirm date / place / who this ‘super group’ could have been…
Be warned – this is only a joke band and is not representative of The Mobs output at this time 1979 or later on in the 1980’s, the sound quality is also pretty dodgy!

Don’t know whether you have these or not and I’m not entirely sure where they came from. I think Paranoid, Jail House Rock and Dirty Little Girl (if that’s what it’s called) were recorded at Ham Hill Festival Somerset in 1979. The Paranoid version is totally brilliant and show what a superb drummer Graham was. I’m not sure if it’s him singing though. It may well be Steve Rudolph from the Dead Pop Stars.

December 28, 2007 at 11:24 amPlayed at this festival myself – think the date most likely was 79 – seem to remember playing to a bunch of curious pensioners and dog walkers on a sunny Sunday afternoon – not sure if these tracks were recorded there however – although for sure Fallows et al did indeed play. We used the bass amp from Curtis I seem to recall… Played in a couple of bands with Graham after he left the Mob in the early 80s – indeed a very cool drummer – found a few Bikini Mutant pics lying around recently – wil have to dig the things out and scan sometime ..

December 30, 2007 at 12:34 amI remember sharing a wet tent with mark, criss and debbie, lots of wind and rain and very little music on the saturday. There was hardly anyone there but it felt good being part of an illegal gathering so close to home.
I got dragged off on a family holiday on the sunday just as the sun was coming out and the first band had come on so i was a bit gutted.

Indeed a fun little gathering for sure – even made the front page of the local rag the next week …

July 4, 2008 at 1:26 pmI too was there. Ham Hill was a potentially wonderful place for a festival and it was a shame it wasn’t a success. Some of the thrown together jams between various faces was the best thing – that and the industrial strength Black Bombers floating about (shudder!!) It definitely wasn’t Weymouth’s finest Steve Rudall singing – sounds like Curtis to me…

I remember being told by the police that the festival had been cancelled and people had gone home and mid way through his speech I could distictly here a band in full song so figured I’d chance it.

February 10, 2012 at 5:25 pmI was on holiday down from Gateshead and staying at my Aunts house in Stoke-sub-Hamdon, I must have been 16 at the time and trudged up the hill to the festival, I vividly remember sitting on that little mound watching the band set up and play.
I remember chatting to a local lad about music etc.
It didn’t rain when I was there and I stayed until evening.
