I think he said that crass were not important to him,as in not the defining factor/moment of his life.I once dropped a table on his foot, something Ive always been proud of…

Were they not important because he was already an old fart before they began?

There’s a lot of interesting Crass stuff on You Tube – links to the right of this one.

I have a carbon copy of the letter I wrote to Penny in 1983 asking him to write for Punk Lives.

    Wanna see it?

Well it’s in the photo gallery now, in it’s own album – Tony Writes to Penny.

    7 pages.

Welcome aboard Dave, you may like to search for the Crass practise / interview tapes I put up a while ago now. Use the search function.

Penguin – is there any chance you could post at some point the 1984 interview you mentioned? I would LOVE to hear that…

Dave – the next book in Ian Glasper’s series (after ‘The Day the Country Died’) is currently being written: it’s on the Hardcore / Thrash scene of the mid-to-late 1980’s, and should be another interesting read…

Both Ian Glasper’s book’s have been good reads, but the thing that struck me about them both was how few of the bands across the books I had any time for …

And as a consequence of the books, I have revisited the like’s of Flux and Crass to see if I missed the point all those years ago. I hadn’t. They were still crap. In terms of the “Day the country Died”..the more interesting bands are the ones that didn’t follow the Crass route and struck out on the own with a bit of colour and flair.
