Infamous punk squat Campbell Buildings was used as a location for the TV show, Hammer House of Horror episode Rude Awakening. Here are the clips from that show – some may enjoy the wrecking ball scene in Part 4.

January 3, 2010 at 1:49 pmThat’s so weird, I remember this very clearly. Denholm Elliot ends up shagging Lucy Gutteridge in a phone box except it’s a dream.
Every time he wakes up he strangles his wife, which then turns out to be a dream as well.
Until the last time…

January 3, 2010 at 3:05 pmIf you go to the kill your pet puppy youtube site the telephone box sequence is on there, under the title ‘ant person’ as Lucy is wearing what looks like the mac and beret Ant garb of the time.
you can do this by right clicking on any of the excerpts above, choose ‘watch on youtube’ then to the right click on ‘more from Kill Your Pet Puppy’.

Hi Viv, my name is Keeny Khan and I am part of a support group for an ex-punk called Gary (Crap) Critchley who was convicted in May 1981 for a murder of an Edward Mcneil on 28 June/July 1980. Gary has been locked up now for over 30 years. We believe (5000 supporters) that Gary was fitted up. The murder occurred in Campbell Buildings and we understand that you were involved in this film by Hammer Horror and that it was shot in the same Campbell Buildings. Do you have any photographs of the building that we can have copies of please – its very important and may help Gary’s case. Please help if you can and have a look at the justiceforgarycritchley campaign websites. UB40, GBH the Drongos and many others are supporting Gary.
