You know, I remember that cover so well! Not sure I ever actually read the thing, I just remember it lying on the floor of Huntingdon Street! Lol! If it came out in January 1980, and I was born in March 1962, I must have only been 17… Jesus, is it only me or do other people find it VERY hard to get a true chronological perspective on their lives???? It all seems to be a bit blurred… Must have been the drugs… 🙂

Nah, not the drugs. Our memories are not ‘saved’ in time -order, they are all jumbled up. Dramatic or personally important memories are easier to recall than ordinary/ everyday memories -which fade away if not recalled. So what we end up with is like a mental photograph album, but with the photos in random order.

So I can vividly remember visiting Huntingdon Street with the KYPP crew – we went by train from West Hampstead to Caledonian Road and Barnsbury. Brett avoided the ticket office by jumping over a fence but fell and hurt his leg. The ticket office was unmanned anyway. Pip made us a vegetarian lasange…

But when was this visit? There is no time stamp on it… but when I cross-reference with KYPP 4 which came out in September 1981 and has a piece on gay punx (which Pip wrote for Gay Noise?) and a Mob page… I can start to date the visit.

Ah ha. In the photo gallery there is flyer for a Mob (plus plus) gig at Parliament Hill Fields dated 23 August 1981

I remember going from Huntingdon Street to this gig (by train. North London Line again) … it was the first time we Met the Mob, and Min who was also at the gig. So this memory maybe a continuation of the one above. Or they may have been separate occasions.

You should have been a detective, Alistair! Yes, I can remember the KYPP crew coming round 51 for the first time, too, but I seem to recall I stayed in my room for most of the time – just can’t remember why or what I was up to! 🙂

The time thing aint the drugs.
Its merely the fact that it doesnt seem like 30 years ago.
Thats more than a quarter of a century.
Like 30 years before punk was WWII.
And thats like pre-history for us, no?
    I just dont get it…
