Rare as hen’s teeth or a Tottenham Hotspur F.C. victory over Arsenal, this acetate (or dub plate in JA) was given to me by a member of Psychic TV in Beck Road, and I have lovingly kept it out of harms way ever since. This mastering studio acetate,\u00a0was the first stage of\u00a0this pressing run. This is\u00a0NOT an advance white label test pressing…The test pressings were done afterwards for the actual individual two<\/em> 7″ singles that were eventually sold in very small quantities with two tracks on each. My copy has all four\u00a0tracks on, and like a ‘dub plate’ it runs for one track then you lift the needle for the second track. It smells beautiful as well…sniff!<\/p>\n

The tracks are from the second LP by Psychic TV called ‘Dreams Less Sweet’ which had a fair amount of work put into the recording of the tracks. A special 4D microphone was used in caves, in churches and other significant buildings, also used to record kung fu lessons and attack dogs, to create a 4D surround sound – ‘Finale’ is a good track to check this effect with. BUT you will need four speakers! Don’t forget this was the era before anyone I knew had videos, and the UK had just got a fourth television station!\u00a0Members of Psychic TV for this release run into dozens if you include choirs and orchestras. Absolutely brilliant release, even if it was a financial disaster for CBS.<\/p>\n
