I still have a handful of\u00a0cassettes\u00a0belonging to Jon From Bromley\u00a0for uploading onto this site, but for\u00a0now I am just slipping\u00a0a couple of\u00a0cassettes lent to me by Martin (ex Flux Of Pink Indians drummer and fellow THFC supporter – photo below).<\/p>\n

The first batch of\u00a0cassettes on loan here at Penguin\u00a0Towers are\u00a0rather Flux \/ Crass \/ Antisect \/ Amebix orientated. The\u00a0recordings on these cassettes by these bands are all\u00a0crisp mixing desk quality or studio outtakes which is just a complete doss, hope you will enjoy listening to them when I start to upload then over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

These\u00a0first two cassettes recorded at The Greyhound pub in Fulham Palace Road\u00a0over two nights, both nights with Flux Of Pink Indians headlining, are all\u00a0absolute audio stunners (apart from 10 minutes towards the end of The System’s performance when the cassette seems to evolve into mono – naughty soundman being half asleep no doubt!). All the bands perform great sets at these gigs and it is well worth giving\u00a0the uploads\u00a0a listen\u00a0to hear (at this time the more Killing Joke inspired) Amebix, The System and Flux Of Pink Indians on top of their game at this point in 1983.<\/p>\n

There\u00a0will also be some photographs from Martins collection\u00a0to upload into the Photo Gallery. Some of these photographs (I am lead to believe) were taken at this very gig uploaded onto this post tonight. When I get to\u00a0see\u00a0Martin again\u00a0in a day or so,\u00a0and he is clutching a whole\u00a0heap of photographs to lend me,\u00a0I will ask him which are the ones\u00a0taken at\u00a0the Greyhound gig (I should really know as I went to this venue\u00a0countless times!) and when I get confirmation I will\u00a0add those specific\u00a0photographs to this post\u00a0– I am hoping on seeing some nice photographs of\u00a0Wigan’s excellent System as photographs for this band seem to be quite scarce.<\/p>\n

A big thank you then to Martin W for the lend of these cassette gems and photographs, and a huge slap on the back to Martin’s older brother\u00a0Paul W who was the drummer in the original line up of Psychedelic Furs from late 1976 – 1979, supposedly\u00a0being given the elbow for some no shows at gigs at\u00a0the\u00a0Zig Zag magazine office party and one at the Moonlight Club in Hampstead.\u00a0A few weeks\u00a0later the Psychedelic Furs\u00a0signed to C.B.S. DOH!<\/p>\n
