Crass – Plymouth Fiesta – 29/09/81

Punk Is Dead / Heard Too Much / Tired / Reality Whitewash / Upright Citizen / Fun Going On / Mother Earth / I Know There Is Love / Angels / Deadhead / Rival Tribal Rebel Revels / Big Hands / Big A Little A

Nagasaki Nightmare / / Women / Bomb / Contaminational Power / Bumhooler / Major General Despair

Do They Owe Us A Living / Banned From The Roxy / Securicor / I Aint Thick / G’s Song

One of Chris Low’s tapes on a lend, recorded in the crowd but reasonable quality never the less. Chris does not know any details on the venue or the date of this performance. I doubt that anyone would be able to remember specific details of a Crass gig over 25 years ago, but if anyone has a hunch of when or where this gig took place after listening to it then please let us know via the comments.

The Crass songs seem to be played out incredibly fast at this performance, almost like they could not wait to get out of the venue! No clues to any trouble in the venue though, seems good natured enough.

Cheers to Thorn for finding out the details of where and when this recording took place.

Sounds very similar to a Live in Plymouth (Fiesta Suite) 1981, recording I have. Would need to check, but the start is familiar (radio, punk is dead at 100mph etc).

Nice one Ian, keep us updated with a confirmation either way. If it is this show then I will update the heading.

I can tell you that it’s NOT from the Grange in Salisbury ’81 as after the Punk Is Dead intro Steve appeared in a cape with some white tape across his nose brandishing a toy pistol declaring ‘Stand & Deliver’ before launching into their set, but apart from that a similar set so it’s probably the same year. I know the Grange gig was recorded also as I used to have a copy but sadly no longer have it… Great tape! Thanks.

The tracklist is almost identical to the Plymouth gig 29.9.81 as ian points out – for some reason it won’t let me download the first part so I can’t compare

I managed to grab the first two parts of this and compaired them to my copy of Crass Live in Plymouth 29 Sep 1981 & it is indeed the same recording, the tracks sound identical.
